Convertapalooza
Integrated Marketing Campaign
Convertapalooza is an integrated marketing campaign by Intellimize, inspired by the music festival ‘Lollapalooza.’ The concept was to create a playful theme featuring artist names with industry-related puns, like ‘Alicia Keywords,’ ‘Blink 404,’ ‘Carrie Underbudget,’ ‘A$AP Results,’ and ‘Machine Learning Kelly.’ I was brought on to design digital and print posters, various marketing materials, a webpage, social media ads and branded merch.
Our efforts were recognized with prestigious awards, including the MUSE Awards 2023 Gold Winner in Integrated Marketing Campaign and the Finnys Killer Content Award from Demand Gen Report, solidifying our success and innovation in the marketing sphere.
The Brief
Create a festival/concert theme inspired by the iconic Lollapalooza event for a series of upcoming events. Dubbed "Convertapalooza," the theme aims to resonate with the vibrant culture and energy of Lollapalooza.
Poster
The poster was the firstl piece of the puzzle, demonstrating how everything falls into place, even preceding the logo, the copy, and the fictional band names, along with all the enjoyable graphic elements. It showcases how it seamlessly aligns with and complements the copy and the event.
Logo
Crafting this custom type logo to emulate the style of Lollapalooza presented a challenge due to the longer name of Convertapalooza. However, drawing inspiration from how Lollapalooza stacked the double O, I found a way to stack additional letters.
Despite this effort, the logo remained excessively long for scaling and responsive designs. So I created an alternative "vertical" logo.
Merch
Creating the merch was the most exciting part for me! This included t-shirts, slap bracelets, koozies, stickers, and temporary tattoos.
